Important Submission Notes: Since this is one of eight major assignments in this course, all students will submit it at least once.

For work throughout English Composition I and II, we haven’t required a specific approach to your assignment. However, due to the complexities of this assignment, an outline is required — and should help greatly. Think broadly about the overall organization of the essay. Make sure it’s reasonable and likely to be convincing. Later, you’ll be filling out the details of the points in your essay, while focusing on specifics.

Required: To help guide the organization of your Researched Argument Essay, submit the first attempt of your DETAILED outline here.

Optional ModelUse this Outline Model as a guide (.doc format), but feel free to add or remove sections as needed.

NOTES:

  • Simply title your outline, “Outline.” (You may include the title of your Researched Argument in the body of the online if you’d like.)
  • The outline should be formatted in MLA, except for the spacing; the outline should be single-spaced, using the tree list structure shown in the outline model.
  • The length of this first outline is up to you. But the suggested length is about two pages. Regardless, it needs to be filled out with the basic ideas and points of your essay (not left in a generic format).
